Should I ask the chorus teacher at my school if they can recommend a vocal teacher for me?

i REALLY want to be a Broadway actress and go to Carnegie Mellon or
UC-CCM but i can't sing. I've looked all over the internet but can't
find vocal teachers in medford, oregon. so should I ask the chorus or
music teacher at my school if they know any vocal teachers in my town?
